You don't simply add the numbers together (do not add 10+10 or 18+18), you have to add the surface area of the drivers together. The average 10" woofer has an Sd of 310 cm^2. The OA 18's have an Sd of 1217 cm^2. Two 18's have a surface are (Sd) of 2434 cm^2. Four 10's have a surface area of 1240 cm^2. Eight tens is closer to equaling the surface area of two 18's.

i figured that out...and thank you for the link as well...but i was going on simple logic..honestly it was wrong...but logically was right is all...but overall clearly i was wrong at least i can admit that most on here would never admit to being wrong

id like to thank you as well for being HELPFUL...instead of a POS this is what the forum needs sadly this forum has become next to worthless to learn ANYTHING. Its over-run at this point i get on MAYBE once a week

Agreed, Thanks to all that have chimed in, I too had it wrong. I must have 2hrs of workin the math for different combinations since learning. Its funny, when u learn somethin new how u wanna use this new info so much. I have decided to try and wait for the 18s it seems tho I may have to cut the box dem down some.
