please critique my setup I am planning.

I am very new to Home audio past walmart surround sounds.

I currently have a simple LG bluray surround sound sytem.

I am not looking for superior studio/concert results, just a lot better than what I have now.

So this is the plan:

Keeping the receiver for my current Surround sound and ditching all the speakers for it.

i will be doing 4 satelites with the Tang Band Bamboo cone 4" speakers

Tang Band W4-1320SIF 4" Bamboo Full Range Speaker 264-914

and with Vifa XT25BG60-04 1" Shielded Dual Ring Radiator Tweeter

Vifa XT25BG60-04 1" Shielded Dual Ring Radiator Tweeter 264-1012

I would buy one of these for HT way before the alpine... You could even look at 2 of them.

I haven't ever used any of the tang band speakers but I have heard the underhungs and they sounded great. As far as the dayton box etc I believe you can buy full setups you just have to put everything in. They come with the woofer, tweeter, crossover, sound foam, and the cabinet and it is all tuned to work together all ready. Dayton makes sevferal of them I believe so that could be a route to look into.

Those dayton woofers are VERY nice. I would run the HF version before the HO though. The alpine is fine if all you're looking for is output but in a home theater setup SQ is critical and they lack in that area. Go Dayton, they set the standard in DIY home audio IMO.

i am not trying to argue, you guys probably know more than I do. This is the same setup my buddy essentially built for his movie theater in his house. I was looking at the stats on the 2 subs

Can someone explain the difference to me? The sub will be made in a custom designed box using an enclosure program, not a prefab box.

the daytons will get a lot lower and have a crisp clean sound....they are specifically designed for a home theatre environment

can you tell me where you are seeing this. I am trying to learn this so please dont get hostile. I am looking at the frequency response range

Alpine 20-400hz

Dayton 21-600hz.

600hz is more highs, than the alpine, but according to manufacturer specs the alpine says it goes 1 hz lower than the dayton.

sensitivity is both 87db nd sub excursion is 20.7mm for the alpine and 12.1mm for the Dayton
