4.5cf @ 40hz, kerfed! Worklog with lots of pics!

Looking at the top view of the kerfs they look awfully weak for an HD sub IMO. Are you going to fill them with glue now that the bottom is on?

The one I did I packed full of Bondo, plus a thick layer over the entire kerfed part.

Box looks awesome though...

I'm not a fan of the port bend; it looks pretty large. What's the distance from apex to apex? How much does it vary from the rest of the port width?

Also, how is the double baffle going to sit? It might look pretty odd around the port flare. Hopefully it will turn out alright as the rest of it is looking promising.

Yes, they have been filled with copious amounts of glue. The middle has been filled with the mixture of sawdust and Titebong.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the port bend either. If I had more experience with this, I'da made the bend a wider kerf to narrow the bend. Right now, it sits at almost 9" apex to apex //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The double baffle will sit atop the rest of the box, with a port cutout, which will be routered to make it look not so awkward.

Wicked. ANy advantage to this design?
Less port noise

if you did the back/sides right probably could have done it in all one piece with no joints.
Yeah, that'da been cool, but I just don't have the equpiment to pull that off.

The first kerf I did was on a 6' long sheet and it was a *****. You really need to have a sled built to keep things under control.

A decent sled made from some 2x4s and masonite is always good to have and you should consider making one if you haven't already.
