Im wondering how i should approach building a box for them. I bought them from my local car audio shop they said they were there own line of sub and the only info on the subs are 300rms 600 max. I already bought 4 of them and now im thinking i want to make a ported box for my ext cab s10. Any suggestions?

Hard to design for subs with no specs. Best you can do is make an educated guess.

Most lower end subs/weaker subs will be higher Q and like bigger boxes.

Do you know if theyre suited sealed? If so, theyll like large boxes. If recommended ported I think a starting area of 2 cubes would work.

The shop said they will build me a ported box for 200$ but im capable of building it myself i just dont know where to start. I was thinking like 1.75-2 cubes each also. Is it worth the hassle or should i just pay 200$ and save the head ache?

not gonna be easy unless its above the window line, most i was able to get across in my s10 was 3 hx2 12s.make a shelf for the box to sit on and build it 2 top 2 bottom port on left side 32x42x13 = 10.11 cubes before port and displacement

that is cheap for a shop to build an enclosure. If you go that direction, make them give you the specs of what they would build. Then have us double check it to make sure your not going to get a less then optimal enclosure.

What year S10? I did 4 12s in a 1G S10 for a buddy and they fit side by side all the way across and was ported. All fit below the window line... Also did a 2G s10 with 4 kicker L7s and they fit below the window line, but they were stacked.

Thats probably what ill do. What would you suggest for an amp? If there all 300 rms and svc 4 ohm

Youll want the box to leave room on the passenger side of your vehicle, and port here at the bottom with the subs up.

If you cant do that, port up on passenger side and subs up will suffice.

Ok so i went into the shop last night and the guy just seems sketchy and didnt really wanna tell me how he was going to build it. I would honestly like to just build it myself, could anybody design me up a box? If so how much?
