4.10cuft design for a single 12" HDC3??? is that a lil big?

ok i just want some input from u guys and before i explain, im not bashing on pete or doubting him just curious.

well i asked for a design for my wifes 1-12" AQ HDC3. i received the plans but have not finished builig it yet but the dimensions are 36x17x15= 4.10cuft.

so i was like **** thats huge for one 12". when i read through the forums and look @ other members signature and look at their enclosures for their 12 and they are never bigger than 3cuft. so was wondering what ur guys is take on this is. it just seems huge!!! maybe it has to do with the music i listen to.

It sounds to me like you took the outer dimensions and multiplied them Well imagine this: there's a port in the box, along with wood! Crazy things that take up air space. Those dimensions are gross volume. The 2-3 cubes you see written are net volume. Yours is probably right there as well. I believe I quoted another one of your posts as well. definately on the large side... Try it you may be happy with it. I have had Pete design me two boxes in the past. One I was happy with, the other... not so much.

Port looks pretty long, what is the box tuned to? If it's 4.10 net then I'd say it's on the big side, but you need to find out what the net volume/tune is...

That's about the size that I would put a 15 in for daily lol
