Probably not quite as good as Shiva or IDQ, but Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 sounds very good.

yeah the infinity perfect also has a nice big booty on it,would look nice inverted. Not very plain looking either.

is the Perfect 12 VQ much different than the perfect 12.1? i dont care about the adjustability.

The difference is the adjmustable Q. so a 12.1 will do you fine.

Well, ive sortof narrowed the subs down to the couple that were at a good price and got good reviews.

right now its:

- Adire Shiva

- Image Dynamics IDQ

- Infinity Perfect 12.1

- A/D/S/ R12S

now i think out of those my favorite is the IDQ, but because i cant hear any in person i dont know. The R12S i havent heard much about at all, but hey, its under $100. i doubt i will go with that one unless i find out a lot more about it, but i put it on there because its so affordable.

has anyone ever compared any of these? I may have to start a poll....

also, i dont really have many options for buying the Shiva or IDQ online, does anyone know a good place to shop for them. they dont seem very common.

you shoulda thought about your sq sub earlier because sounddomain had some refurbished IDQs for $130 shipped but they ran out. Thats where i got mine. The cheapest i found online was $150 at infinitecaraudio.com.

NO no the vq is a much better performer... lighter cone material (patented Magnesium Metal Matrix i believe)

and the power handling is greater with the vq, as well as a bunch of other goodies infinity engineers put in there. unlike the JL w7, there is a reason why the vq is more expensive than the 12.1

comparing the VQ (go with the VQ) with the IDQ, i would have to say that the 12" VQ out performed 2 10" IDq hands down. it kicked harder, the bass was deeper (in a 1 cube box), more musical and louder. The VQ was only getting 400w while the 2 IDq's were getting 300w each.
