i have NO idea. what ends up happening as stated is oil companies buy the rights for the technologies then sit them on a shelf. the car they were using was very little (almost like a smart) so there might be a horse power issue also there is a guy (want to say tennessee not sure) that uses glass jars and hydrogen or better burning gasses (i dont remember the terminology) to get 100+ miles out of a gallon of fuel. only thing needed is a fuel injected engine. ...might have just allowed fuel vapor to pass into the cylinder as well but im not 100% sure but again there he converted a small car to do this. so i dont know if it was a hoax or had limits on power. these were all on little tid bits on msnbc and cnn and maybe even fox. almost looked like he was running a still behind his air cleaner LOL

Per unit of volume hydrogen is only 1/3 the energy....so to have the same amount of energy of 10 gallons of gas, you would need 30 gallons of hydrogen. This is less in liquid form, but it is hard and expensive to cool hyrdrogen enough.

At what pressure?

Gases, by nature are about 1/1000 times as dense as their liquid counterpart, which leaves a lot of room for compression....and a slew of possible compression pressures. Don't speak in generalities if you're trying to make a concrete point.

Also, the net energy in a substance is only the tip of the ice burg. The about used, is a much more valid comparison...and it is my understanding that with hydrogen power you generate electricity rather than mechanical power at the initial stages. This electrical power is then used to power the vehicle...with excess power being stored rather than wasted as heat (yes, some is still wasted, but WAY less than gas).

Way too complicated of a subject to be summed up in a couple of lines.

I wasn't speaking on 'will it be in the year 2200' or anything. My comment stems from the current knowledge of the process to create a fuel source from hydrogen. It is not cost efficient and the overall process is just as, if not more, polluting to the environment than what we are doing today.
