Like everyone else said, you need about a 200-300amp alt to be able to give full power constantly.

a 300amp alt will give you all the watts you need,so you should be fine.

P=IxE or P/E=I 3000W/12V=250Ayou would need around 300A alt give or take.

Well there is no way a 65 amp alt will power 3000WRMS. You'll need a 200 amp alternator, and two-three batteries. I know you said you have 5 batteries, but that's pointless cuz youre alt will never be able to power more then one. So get a 200 amp alt, and only use 2-3 batteries and you'll be fine.

Um, the batteries are for when it's off, really has nothing to do with the alt while the boat is running. Do you know wtf your talking about ?

i have a 104a alt, 1 battery and i can push 3K watts.

yea, the reason i have 4 auxillary batteries, is because when we sit at the dock or at the beach i like to be able to listen to my music without my boat running.

oh, and maybe. i already have one so i was like just get another. but i am thinking about four treo ssx 10"s and my c2k 9.0. i think that would be kinda sick. we have to see how the ohm load works out. i think those things are only dual 2 ohm, i dont know. i just want somethin that my local shop will warrenty because as you know tyler, i like to break shit and blow stuff up (not intentionally) and you cant go out on the boat with no music for a week when your sub is being sent back.

The extra batteries are more of a concern to me than the 3kw. A system capable of producing 3000 test tone watts is not going to exceed 500-1000 for music. And assuming you aren't playing it full volume ALL the time it will be even less than that.
