i will be running roughly 3000 watts and a total of 5 batteries (1 main that will only be used when my boat is running, and 4 auxillary that the boat will run off when it is sitting). here is the specs that the motor manufactorer provided for the alternator, Alternator Amp: 65 Alternator Watt: 917. do you think that my alternator will put out enough to keep everything charged without killing itself?

Ya..I'm trying to think..and don't start talking shit if I am wrong..I am just trying to help..but the "Electrical Engineer" at my job and me were talking about Alts and shit the other day..I am trying to think of what he told me but it was a simple deal..I am not so sure that what you have "WON't WORK",,I think it might?? But I gotta remember the theory he explained to me about this.

or 65Ax12V=780W

maybe if you ran it at 24V you would only need 125A, but most amps dont take to kindly to that high of voltage.

hey depression do you have any more pics of your hot friend? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

Well there is no way a 65 amp alt will power 3000WRMS. You'll need a 200 amp alternator, and two-three batteries. I know you said you have 5 batteries, but that's pointless cuz youre alt will never be able to power more then one. So get a 200 amp alt, and only use 2-3 batteries and you'll be fine.
