Best amp 4 two Alpine Type-R?

well since im goin for 2 alpine type-r 12", I need to decide on the best amp for these subs and under $250. I was thinking of a Hifonics bx1000, and give each sub 500wrms. Any better suggestions???

Also what size of a box should i get?... i was thinking .8-.9 cu ft each sub. in a sealed.

i would say thats a good box size. Also that amp is a great choice. You sound like you know what your doing. I recommend you put that box size in bass box pro to see how many watts it takes to push those to x max with certain wattage. My box for my 10" type R's only needs 485 to push them to X max. I run about 350 to them and love them.

the 10's are a good bit more efficient than the 12's. the hifonics is an ok choice of amplifier, many havent been to happy with hifonics though. what about a crossfire vr1000d, more expensive, but well worth the money. check out cbrstereo.com or purecaruaudio.com for it.
