30,000 more troops

It's easy for everyone to talk from the comfort of their homes. America is in a war that is ultimately impossible to win. You can't end terrorism. These people are crazy and have no regard for the human life. It's hard to defeat people who actually want to die. I have no idea how things got to be this bad but it's really sad that all these innocent people are dying for no reason.
I agree you cant end terrorism, but you can let them win by doing nothing. Its one of those situations where all you can do is show opposition to help minimize it, and try to alter the pattern over time. The problem is too many people these days expect specific and ultimate results, yesterday. Would you suggest we send out the message we will not oppose terrorism? Terrorism should not be the focus, as that is merely the tool of the enemy. The enemy should be the focus, but we are too politically correct and bent on pleasing Europe to take a real stand where its needed.

What we need to do is hunt 'em down where they live a kick the living crap out of them and anyone who harbors them...we teach them a hard enough lesson and we will be the last country they will ever fuck with. Unfortunately, the way we fight wars now and what our politicians blab publicly about just gives them all the more reason to keep on comin' at us. I'm gettin' real tired of Obama's Apology Tour.

Hey you know, the Soviet Union already went down this road for 9 years. They ruined their economy just to pay for it and turned around and just left. So let me get this straight, our economy is already in ruin and we're still going in with more. Fucking brilliant.

Don't forget "Cap and Tax", "Healthcare "Reform"", "TARP", "The First "Stimulus"", "The Possible "Second" Stimulus", etc...fire up the Treasury presses, we got money to print!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

To be fair, Bush made a lot of mistakes too. Even the term 'war on terror' that he created sets the stage for a no-win situation. Politicians these days have no balls, and instead use that space in their pants for filling their pockets even deeper with their own greed and ambition. But ultimately it is our own fault, the American people, for following these people, for allowing them to create a political environment where we only (realistically) have them to chose from. Ross Perot is a perfect example. In his first run for president, he garnered approx 25% of the votes. Yet 4 years later when the govt handed out their campaign money, he got what, 3%? While the Democrats and Republicans got 96% (combined). We allow that shit... no, we rejoice in it, so long as the Republican or democrat who is spouting the lies we want to here wins in the end. And we suckle from the main stream news media pig who feeds us everything we want to hear, even though virtually everyone knows its all just one big game to keep the ones controlling things in power. OMG, we love Obama, he's black and says pull the troops out. Oh, he's not pulling out? Well at least he's still black, we are such a great nation for voting in a black man that his policies and lies dont matter to us! And the republicans... so long as they keep our guns and pretend to stand for religious beliefs, we will let them lie to us all day long too! Shit cant continue forever. We are digging our own graves, the golden era of America is past us by. We let our politicians and news media steal it from us. This economy can and will continue to be in the shitter, think those millionaire politicians, news media people and movie stars who think we give a shit which candidate they support are feeling the pinch like us normal people? Sheeple.

Don't get me wrong...there were plenty of issues where I disagreed with Mr. Bush (No Child Left Behind, Illegal Immigration, TARP (argh!), etc.)...he was no conservative. But he was and still is somewhat of a classy guy...more so than the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. IMHO.

Anyways, I think it is time for term limits and pay limits for our politicians...clear them ALL out and start voting in people with spines and who know up front that they can't make a career out of public office and make millions doing it. I mean, Fat Boy (Teddy Kennedy) friggin' DIED in office and Byrd is heading down the same path. WTF!?

I honestly could say good things about both Bush and Obama. But any more, I just cant bring myself to say anything nice, as the bad outweighs the good by too much.
Yes, term limits for congress would be a good start. The founding fathers never envisioned us being governed by professional politicians, in fact they did their best to avoid it. The entire idea behind congress, and indeed all elected officials, was someone who rises out of society to take office temporarily, before returning to their civilian lives. People like bankers, doctors, even farmers. This has fallen by the wayside over the years backed by fears that we need professionals... you know, people who know what the fuck they are doing. As if Congressmen have any fucking clue beyond what lies will further their own personal agendas.

Removal of pork from our political bills is another good start. The game politicians play of adding pork barrel spending to gain individual votes for a particular bill is, in essence, legal blackmail that we the tax payers pay for, and the thought that its not only allowed to happen, but is actually the grease the lubricates the political machine in Washington sickens me to no end. When history writes about the downfall of our nation in political terms, that will be one HUGE reason for the collapse of our government. Its criminal, I dont give a shit if its 'legal' or not.

Obama was ****ed if he did and ****ed if he didn't in this case. I like how the GOP immediately criticized too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif. they would have criticized either way most likely, so wicked.
I don't like them sending in more troops, but since they are SLAUGHTER THEM SANDRATS AND COME BACK HOME. don't play around in the desert with no objective the way Bush sent them out there. Get in, destroy, and get tf out!
First off I am in the Army and currently deployed to Iraq on my 3rd tour. As my first was Afghanistan on ARP04-APR05, then Iraq Aug06-Nov07 and now in iraq since Jan09-supposedly Jan2010. I am a republican. And bush may have ****ed up on some things but targeting he did well.

I'm not a military guy but I heard a retired colonel talking yesterday that when it comes to the rules of engagement, that has always been the pervue of the military brass, not the politicians. He was saying we need generals like MacArthur and Patton as since then, our generals have been too PC and wimpy. From what I understand, Vietnam was when we really started getting antsy about collateral damage. Since then, we seem to go out of our way to lose wars. If we are going to go in, go in with extreme prejudice, get the job done, kick some serious *** and get the hell out.
The way we are going about this current conflict, we are going to be there forever or we will ultimately lose a lot of good young men for nothing.
We will have never lost men and women for nothing. I am An Infantryman, and been in firefights in both Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the job we signed up for. Can anyone here truely tell me why we are in Iraq??

I have been on many raids and searches, and its not as easy as hunting them down and killing them. One you have to have good intel. Two you have to have the proper leadership. And for the people talking about the rules of engagement. What do you know about it? As i have a card i have to carry on me that has it. It also says i have to follow the Geneva Conventions rules also. If your wondering thats part of NATO. Dont say your disappointed about Obama sending in more troops as for me My job is only done at a time of war. When there isnt one the democrats downsize the military and then your stuck with half the man power that cant get the job done cause some one wants to save money.

While I respect your service (very much), Im failing to understand your over all point. We all know the reasons we supposedly went into Iraq over, and I suspect most of us understand the supposedly humanitarian reason we are still there. Can we say for sure that is why our politicians made the decisions they did? No. But you already know that, as you dont know either. Only the powers that be know why, and if they are being less than truthful about it, they aren't letting the cat out of the bag. or our news media is failing at their job to expose any alternate reasoning. As a soldier there, do you feel we are trying to better the lives in Iraq and stabilize an otherwise inhumane situation? I agree even if you say we are, why there, why not some other awful regime who is oppressing their people? Who knows these things beyond speculation.
Once again, thank you for your service. You are fulfilling your duty to serve, even if you dont (or do) agree with the reasoning behind it.

Audio, Do i personally think we are doing good? Yes in some ways. does the ROE hold us back from doing our job? Yes. But in any war there are always give and take problems that are created. The Government will always be secretive about any and all wars we have or will go into. As it is my belief that there is always some personal agenda. The Iraq and oil thing i just dont see. 1. the US embargo would have to be lifted to get any of the oil. Now is that saying were not getting any, who knows. All we know is that American uses more oil products than any other country. As for the news reporters... I personally hate when there on mission with us as we have to watch everything we say and do.. Now dont take this as we are a bunch of misfits that do what we want but there are always grey areas. If the media knows these then our troops will have more problems then ever doing what they do. As for why we dont help out other countrys with horrible regime's that oppress there people idk the answer to that but i can only guess that we can only do so much at one time. But some of the countrys we have been to include egypt, somalia, hati, cuba, and im sure there are many more that i dont know about. I think it just depends on the status of the section of the world at that time.
