I honestly could say good things about both Bush and Obama. But any more, I just cant bring myself to say anything nice, as the bad outweighs the good by too much. Yes, term limits for congress would be a good start. The founding fathers never envisioned us being governed by professional politicians, in fact they did their best to avoid it. The entire idea behind congress, and indeed all elected officials, was someone who rises out of society to take office temporarily, before returning to their civilian lives. People like bankers, doctors, even farmers. This has fallen by the wayside over the years backed by fears that we need professionals... you know, people who know what the fuck they are doing. As if Congressmen have any fucking clue beyond what lies will further their own personal agendas. Removal of pork from our political bills is another good start. The game politicians play of adding pork barrel spending to gain individual votes for a particular bill is, in essence, legal blackmail that we the tax payers pay for, and the thought that its not only allowed to happen, but is actually the grease the lubricates the political machine in Washington sickens me to no end. When history writes about the downfall of our nation in political terms, that will be one HUGE reason for the collapse of our government. Its criminal, I dont give a shit if its 'legal' or not.
