3-way passive comp set?

If you insist on running 3-way, go semi active. Get a solid 4" comp set and then add a midbass on its own amp. Actively bandpass the midbass.
I would love to do an active system, but that means more amps, and that's not going to happen. I'm just looking for a good, solid set for when we are out on the trails and doing some camping. I'm not looking to put a big system in this at all. There will be the 3-way up front, and a single slim mount sub in the back. Nothing to big, and it's all out of the way when we throw the gear back there.

Your thinking is wrong. My buddy tried that in his FJ and a 2way is a better choice, especially if you are a bit new to tuning.
Not new to tuning at all. Currently in my car I'm running an active system, but soon I will be adding a lot more!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif I'm not afraid to give this a try and see if it works, I have been doing this for a little while now and I know I can make it work. I'm not looking to compete with this, just have some nice tunes for camping and the such. Personally I really feel that the FJ is perfect for a 3-way set up in the front.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Know where I can get some of these?? How about a review somewhere?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Holy chit, for some reason I thought these would be cheaper!

DLS Iridium 8.3's would fit nice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm planning on changing them out soon and would let them go for $550.

I've always wonder if the FJ could fit 8's...my dad has one and that grill looks AWFULLY inviting for an 8. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think he wanted to stuff 8's in the door though....
Not necessarily, but I think the option is there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
