3-way componet system

I was wanting to go active but the more I looked, the more I feel I have a "set it and forget it" attitude. I do want three ways up front. I am looking specifically for a 6.5 , 4 , and a tweet combo. If a setup has smaller than a 4 that would be plus.

I have looked long and hard at these JL Audio XR653-CSi. it runs about 370 shipped from onlinecarstereo.com. Does anyone know of a similar set for less funds?

I have also seen this alpine SPX-F17, are they really worth $500?

I want to spend tops $300, but it say $320 is going to get me into a much better class, then I am more than willing.

3 way set-ups are few and far inbetween on this website.

Try asking on Elitecaraudio.com

MUCH more people running 3-ways.

if you are wanting a 3 way setup and want to spend around $300 or so definately go the DIY route. there plenty of quality brands out there and that is worth it. my 2 way DIY only cost $190. so you got about $110 or so for midranges. it'll be pretty hard to find a quality 3 way component set.

you've got to be willing to shell out a lot more than $300 for a 3-way set. My dyn 360's cost me $800.

thats the great thing about DIY. you can get speakers for some dam cheap and still sound as good as a $1000 set. as long as you tune correctly of course.
