3 Way Active Setup on a 2-Way Headunit. Is it Possible?

Ok so heres what im trying to do on my friends setup. He has a double din deck that he absolutely does not want to change and I want to set him up with something active. So here is my plan

The deck has, front, rear and subwoofer pre-outs. Nothing else, with no control for crossovers or anything on his deck. I wanted to use his front pre-out and bring it to his 4 channel amplifier and hook up 2 channels for just the mid speakers and then use a splitter for the other 2 channels on the amp and hook up his tweeters. Ofcourse these will all be crossed over properly, either using the amps crossover or a resistor (or wtv is required, not sure yet).

Is this possible? Should i just use the rear pre-out for the tweeters instead??

Ofcourse the subwoofer will be hooked up seperately but that isnt the issue at hand.

the way you plan to wire it up is fine. if you plan on using the rear preouts for something else.

i would of done the front pre on tweets and the rears on mid sub on sub
