So I was rocking out a little too hard on my PRO60's this past weekend on some Rolling Stones and when the solo came around one of my PRO60's literally went up in smoke inside my door. It was awesome, but not so awesome now that I have a non-working driver in my door.
They're being run off a Kicker ZX850.2 so it's putting out about 400w @ 3 ohms to each side but they handled it like a champ for a good while. I just had it up too loud for too long (long road trip).
Anyone have suggestions for a good 6.5" mid-bass/mid-range driver to be paired with the PRO60 Tweets and Crossovers? Active isn't an option and I'd prefer to not buy a whole new component set.
What would using a 4 ohm driver do? I assume it wouldn't work because the x-over is made for a 3 ohm driver and the frequency response would go wacky.
Of course doors are heavily sealed and deadened.
Thanks for the help.
