how did the brad nailer work out as opposed to doing screws? I was contemplating using those over screws for now on in my instals

they work great. Holds solid, then once the glue dries it's good to go. Very solid box IMO

Nailers are MUCH faster but you should still clamp the pieces and then nail if you want a real strong build. Otherwise the nails won't hold nearly as tight as clamps or screws.

Nailers are MUCH faster but you should still clamp the pieces and then nail if you want a real strong build. Otherwise the nails won't hold nearly as tight as clamps or screws.

Nails really are just a measure of holding the box firmly together until the glue dries. The glue is what will be really be keeping everything nice and solid.

So if he really wanted to, he could just wait for the glue to dry on each and every joint before he proceeded to the next and the box will be just as solid.

If the box was just a little bigger though, then screws and bracing would be necessary in addition to the glue.

Also, I still really like the look of the box not carpeted.

Well, we picked out some fabric, starting to get the box done, and then......

Cory bought a new car. LOL, he got a 2007 Camry SE with V6, sweet upgrade in cars if you ask me. The box will fit this car perfect, but it will take a little "massaging" to get it in there. Here's updates as of last night. I will be another couple days to get this entire build done so bare with me.

Still have to Second Skin the trunk, doors, install new front door speakers, finish the head unit install, run all the wires...sunday hopefully

wow that fabric looks identical to the inserts in the seats of my 05 four runner, gives me ideas for my next sub box
