My friend said he would give me 3 grand to buy him a system. He wants SPL, SQ and multimedia(dvd screen). What would be a good setup? I can't go over 3 grand so consider electrical equipment in your suggestions.

Get a 12" RE XXX sub with the RE 35-D1 i think it is, whatever amp RE makes. Umm go with like an Alpine Headunit, probably 9811, 9813, 9815 Or just get a Dvd/Cd player. Then get some CDT-Audio component speakers, there on sale on the Zeb for like 299 i think. Or you could og with some Polk Audio Momo series comps. Also get a amp for the comps. That should be probably around 2gs maybe less. So you got an extra 1g to work with. Depending on if he was like tvs in the back and stuff. That would be a nice setup up.

You could also go with a Brahma, as someone is going to mention :).

an in-dash scrren should cost you about 1500, or around that area. That leaves 1500, which you could buy:

1 X 12/15" (brahma, XXX, ED A)

1 X JBL1200.1

1 pair of inifnity/MB quart PSD216 components

1 X 2channel amp, around $200

1 X wiring kit

1 MDF panel ( for enclosure)

should leave you with quite a bit of change for yourself. You could also use that money to upgrade his alt.

3 grand is a lot of money, he prob wants more SQL.

if i had that kind of money, i will try to get eclipse all around. But dunno if 3 grand would be enough. so to be safe let's start with alpine:

Alpine in dash monitor with dvd ~ $1200

components - (CDT or Boston Acoustics) ~ 250-350

Amp for components USX2100 ~ $130, thezeb.com

subs - 2 12'' Adire Brahmas (since he has the money for it) ~750 i believe

or 2 12'' JL W6s ( i think it's ~750 too)

or 2 12'' ED As

amp for subs - can't think of a 2000 watt amp.

just throwing amps MTX81000D (1.5k rms)

Better Audio 1600.1

the RE amp

wiring (~100) knukonceptz.com

this would be taking advantage of all the money.

I do agree with the mb quart components or the cdt's. cant go wrong either way. you may want to get a koda 8" midbass too. I would personally go with a better amp then the JBL. espically for those subs you recomended. something with a subsonic filter. Hifonics/Orion are both pretty badass. lots of choices there though. and with this high dollar an install i would look for a brand match on your component amp just so it looks a little cleaner. runnin that much power be sure to get nice thick power ground/cable. 1/0 ga. kit with a fused distro block would be my suggestion. an upgrading the alt is a good idea. maybe get it reound at a local shop for around $1 per amp. id suggest around 150-160 amps. and get some pics when you install it all. with 3G to work with you better do a tight install.

maybe i was very off with the price estimate with the screen..my apologies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

matador, good choices, but you forgot the estimate for a HO alt for his 2000w amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've already got CDT comps. Where can I get a Koda 8" midbass?
