3 12's vs 2 15's...I'm stumped.

So, I had 3 JL 12W3's running off an Xtant X1001 in a 99 Cobra (Mustang), in the trunk rear-firing, in a sealed 2.97 cu.ft. enclosure a while ago. Most recently, I had 2 RE SE15's running off a Crunch GP3000D-Pro in a SUV, sealed box with 4 total cu.ft.

What is baffling me is that that although I have more cone area, significantly more power, and a SUV, the Cobra still sounded louder:confused: I will say the Durango seems to play the lows a little better, but overall, the Cobra seemed quite a bit louder from say 30-35hz+.

Any ideas why? Is that just characteristic of the 12's vs. the 15's?

sealed boxes has horible box rise and sealed imo just kills the output in a suv

Interesting...not sure of rise, or how to measure. I'm sure I can find that on here somewhere though. Didn't realize the vehicle had anything to do with it though.

a drango is basicly like a jeep grand cherekee and with a single 15 in a ported box t4 soundsteam on a hifonics xxchaos at 1 ohm bridged with 4 ga and stock electical i did a 147.6 at 45hrz
