That's not a bad idea either. I'll probably end up going with a single like they recommended, just because I'd hate to have to shell out another $350+ for a proper 1-ohm amp, and it seems pointless to have 2 W6's when I'm starving both of them for power. But, that's not to say I won't potentially change my mind later.

I'd have them tune the box around 34hz, good middle ground for your music. The reason prefab boxes don't sound good is they are too small and they are normally tuned really high, low 40s.

pretty sure you'll be happy with the ported box. You can always upgrade to a better sub later.
