2x 12" Type-Rs on Kicker ZX750.1 or just 1?

Hey,

I'm about to buy 1x Alpine 12" Type-R (1242D) and 1x Kicker ZX750.1

It seems pretty good for my first setup, BUT, I was wondering if that amp has the juice to power 2x the type-R? In case I ever wanted another one.

ALSO just confirming that I do in fact need the dual 4 Ohm type-R to go with this amp.

Thanks

i wouldnt power two off that

that amp should be perfect for one

and yes you would want dual 4's for that amp (if using a single sub)

the ratings im seeing for that amp doesn't say its 1 OHM stable so if you got two - you'd need dual 2's...(to wire it to 2ohms) but wouldnt be enuogh juice for em

Any amps out there for not too much more expensive that wouldnt be too much for one sub for now but could handle 2x later on? (keeping the 4 ohm)

i hear decent things about hifonics but they're def over rated (not by that much) but still for the moeny you cant do that much better

sundowns are great but a little pricey

could strap a couple of cadences txa 1000 (i think thats the right model number) they go for like $200 a piece and you could upgrade

buy one sub amp now and then in a little while buy another sub/amp

I think I'll stick with the kicker and the 1 sub for now, do you think it'll be a pretty good SPL system? Like loud enough to shake my car and so I can really feel the bass in my chest?

i mean 750 watts is 750 watts - to someone that hasnt had a system - yea it will be somewhat loud.. you're not gonna break any records... but dont forget the more power you use eventually you're gonna have to upgrade electrical system ect...

how much are you paying for that kicker?

Sounds good.

Do you think my stock alt and bat will be able to handle this? It's going in a 1992 camry :S lol

I'm buying it from a member here, its gonna be like 90 or 100 shipped, its in perfect condition.

well for that price you cant go wrong

even if you wanted to adda nother sub later you could find a reasonably priced amp to add onto it (i just wouldnt run two off that single one)

yea you're stock alt should be fine (im guessing) if anything buy a deep cycle battery and do the big 3 if you have light dimming ect. don't buy a cap - they're worthless

Yeah I figured it will be fine as long as I dont play the system when the car isn't running for too long, I will do the big 3 if I need to, which I likely might need to, but for now I think it'll be ok.

even if you dont do the big 3

at least ground the battery to the chassis - my old escort didnt have light dimming but after i grounded the battery - the bass was so much deeper

thats like $5 in wire and $2 in terminals and well worth it =)

you dont gotta replace it - keep the stock wire if its easier

you can just add on - electricity will take the path of least resistane all by itself =)

but if you're only running 750 watts + a couple hundred for interior speakers (if you are) 0 gauge would be more than enough
