2ohm vs 4ohm subs

I am wondering if someone could tell me what is the diff between the two. I was told that 4ohm woofers were better. Can 2ohm subs be wired down to 1ohm?

No they are not better in anyway except for you needs. Dual 2 ohm subs can be wired down to 1 ohm.
