I did search, there are a couple of threads on this but nothing much more current than 2009.
Replacing the factory Bose speakers in the doors of my GMC 1500 truck. Looking for something plug and play that will sound nice on the factory amp.
Factory speakers are 2ohm. I know that limits my selections but i'm worried with the lack of power from the stock bose amp that moving to a 4 ohm speaker.
Factory power output isn't published, the best source I could find estimates it to be around 50 watts per channel but maybe that's at the 2 ohm rating???
What would be great speakers to consider given my situation? (please don't say buy an amp that's out of the question currently)
Alternatively, if 4 ohm speakers won't cost me THAT much volume and there are better speaker suggestions in 4 ohm I'm open to suggestion there too...my focus has been 2 ohm worried about loss of output from putting in 4 ohm speakers.
