2ohm 6.5 components

I did search, there are a couple of threads on this but nothing much more current than 2009.

Replacing the factory Bose speakers in the doors of my GMC 1500 truck. Looking for something plug and play that will sound nice on the factory amp.

Factory speakers are 2ohm. I know that limits my selections but i'm worried with the lack of power from the stock bose amp that moving to a 4 ohm speaker.

Factory power output isn't published, the best source I could find estimates it to be around 50 watts per channel but maybe that's at the 2 ohm rating???

What would be great speakers to consider given my situation? (please don't say buy an amp that's out of the question currently)

Alternatively, if 4 ohm speakers won't cost me THAT much volume and there are better speaker suggestions in 4 ohm I'm open to suggestion there too...my focus has been 2 ohm worried about loss of output from putting in 4 ohm speakers.

there's a good amount of speakers out there in 2 ohm. you're probably getting about 25-50w rms out of the bose amp at best.

what year is your truck? try to look for speakers with higher sensitivity and a smaller mounting diameter because iirc most gm trucks have a pretty small hole. 6.7 inch speakers with a wide basket dont usually fit without modification.

budget is an important factor in what we recommend

Thanks for the quick response. The truck is a 2007...newer body (NNBS or GMT900) from 07-13.

Budget isn't really a concern here. My assumption here is that I don't have enough power to really properly drive any of the stuff at the top of the market that is power hungry which will by default keep costs reasonable. I guess $250-ish if I had to put an absolute figure on it.

2 ohms vs 4 ohms isn't much of a factor. By replacing the Bose speakers with something entirely different nobody can promise you will get better sound. It will certainly sound different, but you might not like the tonality. The woofers will need adapter brackets for the proper fit, and the tweeters will need customization whether you fit them behind the factory grilles or cut the openings larger for a flush mount.

Are the speakers blown?
