Looking for an amp that will do close to 2k(1.6k+) or 2k @ 2ohm. Looking to spend around $300 or less. Might throw in my Obsidian Audio 15 or JL J2 1000.1 towards a trade also. What ya got??

Why not get a rubi or a brz new? At 2 ohms they do 1700, if you set it to 15-1600 you would not know the difference from 2000. I am in the same situation as you. I was considering a aq2200 because after rise I will be around 1 ohm if I wired to .5 and if I set it around 1800 rms that would work. Any thoughts?

I was looking at SS Rubis actually. And I agree, most likely couldnt tell the difference in a few hundred watts. Still undecided what I want to get, but most likely end up with something like the Rubi.

You might get away with running my lanzar 500x2 at 2 ohm with a preamp or linedriver or such, hi input voltage helps it out.
