250 to spend what component set to get

I have a pair of Zapco Reference 6.5" comps in my truck, I am seriously thinking of going to horns in it. Would those work for you? I would be asking $250.

it would help if i could hear these components of course. i tried searchin youtube but it's all subs videos on there. i want clarity with some loudness as well.

you will not get what anything really sounds like via a video.

fusions are ok. the market is flooded in this area with good speakers in that price range. key points though would be how much power, how loud and how bright you like your sounds.

i want them to be clear when they're turned up but also loud (not distorted) i can't stand overly high pitched noises that make your ears bleed

I was able to get a Pair of CDT CL-62 for 229 shipped and a pair of CDT CL-61 mids for free. Everything was new.......

Pretty steep price on those CL's considering how they sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Anyway, if you have an active capable head unit you could probably get much more bang for your buck.

Image Dynamics CTX65CS. $180.00 with free shipping I believe still at Woofersetc.com. Get them.
Good suggestion, im using these at the current moment and they sound wonderful. They have a very smooth silk dome tweeter that never gets bright or harsh at any volume.

For 229 shipped to my door I think the price wasn't bad since I got the 62 and 61 for that price new.

I've heard good things about the 720PRS, and am considering trying these out to replace my CDT 61's myself. Seem to be a great set at the price of about $250 shipped, but I haven't heard them yet. From what others have said the tweets can be a bit harsh and they sound best active (what doesn't).

I've been fairly happy with the CDT's in my sig and are $170 shipped from WoofersEtc. They sound pretty good but the mid bass is lacking for my tastes. If you want strong mid bass I'd look elsewhere. The clarity is good and they get decently loud, and the tweeter isn't harsh at all.
