2200-2500w RMS.....One YT G31 be sufficient?

Ha, you will need much more than a single battery to run that much power effectively. Upgrade your alternator, and you might get away with a single battery...

What amplifier? If it's that Hifonics amp in your sig, don't expect that much power from it.

I think this might fall into the category of "Try it and see what happens".
nothing wrong with that....

You have to remember though, the amp only gonna put out as much as you tell it too. Keep gains low then get either new h/o alt or second yellow top and turn gain up a little. I'm not sure on what to allow extra for you car's everyday electrical needs but a 250a alt + 2 of the yellow tops could be purchased on a budget piece by piece and would be more then enough power for amps, and most importantly allow for upgrades

I am really trying to not have to run two batts. If it is at all possible, i would like to run only one YT and my stock alt. I am not planning on keeping the car past spring, so i feel that the purchase of a HO alt would be a waste.

As I stated before, i think this falls into the category of "try and see". worst case scenario, i will have to upgrade the alt. I am going to be getting an SUV in the spring, and i know they are known to have larger-output alts than a small passenger car, which is what i have. With a YT D31, and the Big 3 upgraded, I see no problem. Although, it wont be the first time i was wrong, or the last. so, "try and see" it is.

BTW, thanks for all the quick replies! Thats why i like this forum; many different points of view in a VERY short period of time. Thanks Again!

also, whats the most RMS i can run effectively with a stock alt, Big 3, and a YT under the hood?
I would probably leave the battery under the hood alone and put a yellowtop in the trunk myself, but Ive run a PA P2250D and a next 4.400 off stock electrical on a 105a alt no problems slight dimming @ idle.

Says who?

In dB Drag street classes people handle 500a (9kw+) draws for multiple burps with the car off.
