I have a 2018 silverado and I'm looking for help designing the box. I made a custom box for my old car, a 2008 impala for two kicker cvx 12's. Turned out great. I used google sketchup to make it 11 years ago. I'm just now getting back into it and it's kind of coming back. This is difficult for me because I'm putting it under the rear seat. There is a guy on youtube, MB enclosures, he makes bad ass boxes but want's almost $1000 for one. No thanks.

I am going to be using two 8" kicker ls7 solo baric. I forget how I tuned my old box to 33 hertz, alothough I think I used Torres box tuner. I will attach what I have done for my old box and the dimensions on the new box. I would really appreciate any help. Pleas let me know if the box dimensions in Torres make sense.

Hmm, have you tried to use the app kicker provides for free? https://www.kicker.com/kickeru. I ran two of these in BASS Box Pro. It recommends a closed box for both 1.183 cubic ft. stuffed for an f3 of 54.91Hz as follows:

Driver Properties

Name: Solo-Baric L7 8"

Type: Standard one-way driver

Company: Kicker

Comment: Solo-Baric L7 series

No. of Drivers = 2

Mounting = Standard

Wiring = Parallel

Dual voice coils = parallel

Fs = 47.2 Hz

Qms = 8.828

Vas = 9.127 liters

Xmax = 12.2 mm

Qes = 0.802

Re = 1.65 ohms

Z = 2 ohms

Pe = 450 watts

Qts = 0.735

1-W SPL = 82.37 dB

-----------------------------------------

Box Properties

Name:

Type: Closed Box

Shape: Prism, square (optimum)

Vb = 1.067 cu.ft

Qtc = 0.735

QL = 19.65

F3 = 55.68 Hz

Fill = heavy

The Kicker site isn’t far off from this either but does not list the outcome that I have provided here.

For a bass reflex I ran a high output design of 1.093 Cubic ft. little or no damping. This came out with a respectable little rise from 36Hz of about 3db from about 44Hz to 70 Hz with an Fb of 45Hz and an F3 tuning of 36hz. Here are the specs (note there are 2 4” ports, 26” long to tune properly and avoid any vent velocity (wind) noise issues. Here you go, looks really good.

And you (if you’re not a Ai BOT), for the sake of everyone in this forum, may want to quit posting, Your information is consistently off topic and incorrect when on topic. Providing bad info when dealing with some of this can be dangerous and may cause someone to blow something up or start a fire. Just stop.

Thank you so much for this information. Did you design and build the box? Is it for two drivers? What is that program you're using? I would love if you could help me some more. I designed this box I attached 11 years ago for two kicker cvx 12". Ported and tuned at 3.17 hrtz I have no idea how I did it. I forget. Take a look. If I could get the dimensions I could build it in Sketchu and then make it with wood obviously.

I used BASS Box Pro. It’s what parts express uses on most all their woofer spec recommends. I didn’t build the box phisically that is. I also modeled the box you provided as well. Going off the NET 1.6cu ft of your box - two, 4” ports 23.5” long or one 6” port 25.68” long. The single 6” vent has slightly less vent noise, both options are pretty good. using the box you proivided and the results are almost the same, even looks a little better. So, the box that you initlally posted and two of the Kicker L7's, 8" woofers.

don;t worry about the secondary rise in the graph, it's not a factor, not relevant.

For the others you listed, Name: CVX12 (2 or 4 ohm) Type: Standard one-way driver (12" Sub) Company: Kicker

BASS Box pro didn;t like the CVX 2's a ported box, stronly suggested a sealed box, and a big one at that! At 31Hz, wanted a 6 cubic foot box, which looked pretty good, 11cu ft sealed box looked very flat dwon to 31Hz.

The response in any of the ported boxes were very peakey, somtimes as much as 9db, very undesirable in my book. This was 2 of the CVX 12's in a 6cu ft box, 6" port 40" long!
