2014 Focus, want to replace speakers, need inexpensive but decent ones

I would like to get some budget replacement speakers for my 2014 Focus, which as far as I saw on Crutchfield, they are 6.5" round ones. One thing I don't want is to have to cut out a hole in the door to have the speakers showing. I want speakers that will simply replace the factory ones, not visible from the outside. I don't want very expensive speakers, especially since there are six of them, and I will use them with the factory stereo, because I don't want to lose the great functionality I have with the current stereo, even if it doesn't sound that great.

For what I see on the pictures there are some that seem to be simple like that and wouldn't protrude from the door, and others that would, but I can't tell if the cover and the speaker are one piece or if they separate. Anyone has any experience replacing the speakes in a current Focus? I think models 2012 and 2013 should be about the same.

The other thing I would like to ask if anybody knows is which one of all the current brands in the market has the sound signature with the best highs. I like highs that make the music sound more crisp, not more metallic. Meaning, I would hate speakers that enhance frequencies around 4 to 6 Khz, I prefer ones that raise at around 10 or over. My gut tells me either Pioneer or Infinity, Pioneer being one of my favorite brands since I had a Pioneer stereo and speakers in my old car for ten years along with an Infinity 12" subwoofer (powered by an amp) and I was completely happy with it. I also remember having an Infinity set of home speakers that had a great high frequency response, but this was in 1995, so I have no idea how their current car speakers are. Anyone knows?

Thanks

Here is a back story before you guys try to sell Rob here a whole bunch of stuff. He thinks replacing the factory speakers using his factory head unit listening to BT audio is the way to go. I instructed Rob here to treat his doors before he does anything and before he buys useless speakers he needed to add a DSP to his factory HU. A MS-8 to be exact. That will give him DSP and amplifier. He also wanted to add one of those cheap 7 band EQs to his factory HU which is not a factory integration component.

Yep. I have a 2012 Focus.

Any decent 6.5" speaker will work. You have up to 3.25" of depth before you get right up on the window when it's down.

What's your budget?

I got some Infinity 60.11 components in front with the factory comps in back, and it gets hella loud off factory amping. Haven't deadened my doors or picked up a 2 channel yet, so Im sure it could get even louder. Haven't failed me yet. You can fit some decent comps in the doors and get a nice, detailed sound tho

Dude, you're starting to get on my nerves. Are you one of those forum trolls who's going to start chasing me across different threads? I get it, you know a lot more than I do, good for you, I couldn't care less. I know what I want, your life is not going to change one bit if I get what I want instead of what YOU want me to get. Just let it go, pal.

Dude you are going to have 10 people trying to sell you stuff. Enjoy. I actually like helping people get the most for their money with no profit for me.

Good, finally someone with helpful advice that can actually help me. I was looking at the lower budget one, say $50 to $75 per pair, since they are six of them. To give you an idea, in 2005 I bought four Pioneer speakers whose models I can't recall right now, but I've been happy with them for almost ten years. I had paid something like $200 for all four of them, so I want something similar. Hoping that eventually I can get a Ford technician to install my amp and subwoofer but it's not going to kill me if it can't be done.

One thing I'm seeing by browsing Crutchfield, is that some fit only the front door and some on both. Do you know where are the other two? I only had the car for two days, and it's too hot to be in the car without the A/C running, so I haven't looked into that yet. But also, I see that there are a bunch that have the tweeter and mid range protruding quite a bit from the woofer, some more some less, but I would think they have to be as shallow as possible if I don't want to cut a hole in the door, correct?

Also, I clicked on the installation instructions and I find this funny:

"To install this speaker in your Front Door

◦Use the factory speaker grilles.

◦You must remove the factory speaker brackets and/or grilles."

So which one is it, can I use the factory grilles or do I have to remove them?

Thanks for telling me the depth, that will help me choose the ones that actually fit without any modifications.

You don't have someone being helpful you have a kid with probably his first system telling you what you want to hear. Good luck on your quest for $50 speakers that sound good. Ignorance is bliss.

Crutchfield. . . lol

Both front and back doors have 6.5" speakers and 1" tweeters

IDK what package you got, but I got the 10 speaker package. One speaker and tweeter in all 4 doors, plus a center 3.5" in the dash, and the sub.

You can use the factory grills, but the factory speaker brackets have to be cut. They are hardwired with the factory speakers, and in order to remove the factory speakers, you have to cut the speaker out of the bracket if you want to use it again.

Yeah, you have up to 3.25" of mounting depth to work with. The most I have ever seen Infinity comps is like 2.8" max, so you'll have plenty of space
