Hi All,

I have a 2011 F-150 supercab.

I have a bunch of older car stereo equipment, some of it is installed and some in the closet. I'm looking for some advice on what to use.

Installed:

Alpine X009-FD1 head unit

2 x 10" Rockford Fosgate RFP2210

Rockford Fosgate 750S amp for subs

2 x 1 farad capacitors installed near the amps

Installed but not hooked up yet:

Rockford Fosgate Punch 600a4

Not installed:

JL Audio XR525 Csi 5.25" component speakers

Rockford Fosgate FNQ1414 4" component speakers

Rockford Fosgate FNQ1406 6" speakers (6" only no tweater on them)

Audio Control Overdrive

Audio Control 4.1

Audio Control 2XS Two-way Crossover

I'm likley going to do fiberglass door panels for a 6-4-tweet or 6-5.25-tweet setup.

Questions:

What are the better component speakers, the Rockford 4" or JL Audio 5.25"?

Should I bother using the Audio Control components, or just run the head unit straight to the amps?

I would like to use the Audio Control 4.1 as I like the rotary dials for volume and quick EQ adjustment, but debating if it's worth the effort. Drawback to this is the 4.1 only has one RCA input so I lose control from the head unit.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
