Let me start this out by saying this is not my car, but it belongs to my brother. The goal with this system is to add a little bass to the car that seemed to get washed out at high volumes with the stock system. We are also on a tight budget and wanted to keep the cost of everything when we were all said and done under 500. Now he is thinking of upgrading mids and highs
For starters we went with a pioner deh 3300
Here is a picture of it installed
Here is a picture of it next to the stock radio.
For wire we went with Knukonceptz 0 gage CCA. Wiring it was not fun at all. It took about 3 hours. I wanted to avoid pulling up the seats at all cost because it has been known to throw a Air bag code in these model subaru's. but after trying every way imaginable it came down to just ripping all the seats and carpet up. Thankfully the airbag light didnt come on. Every pannel I pulled off was a fight and is by far the hardest car I have had to run power wire through
I decided to start from the back to make sure I had enough slack back there. I ran the power wire and turn on wire down the left side of the car and the Rcas down the right
The RCA's were much easier to do and didnt require removing the seat here is how I ran them
and the sub. Just pictures from Sundown for now its supposed to arrive here on Thursday though
We plan to throw the 8 on a audioque 750
Plans for the future are to do a full layer of Audio Technix sound deadener and a few pieces of Cld tiles.
Then replace the front stage components with a pair or hertz, morels, or cdts havent quite decided yet and amp them up. Hopefully will post pics of how the amp is mounted and everything soon.
