2008 Kia Hatchback 12" SE Build

Not bad, but not easy. Looks like you got alot of nice big *** holes to cover up
Would it even be beneficial to cover a open space with dynamat?

I was thinking you about making some sort of cover to seal it off and then sound deaden it.

The front doors are not to install friendly.

Yes that is what you do. Get some roof flashing from your local Home Depot or Lowes and cover the holes and then sound deaden over it. Just make sure to mark the holes where your drilled into in case you have to take them off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also a 2 channel highs amp won't eat up a lot of your power. It is the big mono amps and what not that aren't too efficent.

Sundow makes a nice highs amp, or Alpine PDX line is nice, but pricey. I run an older Clarion amp that is decent, but looking at the PDX line next time if I can find them cheap.

Good luck!

I bought a used JBL GTO 75.2 for 93.00 shipped in the classified section today. It is rated at 75x2@4ohm but I'm sure it will do more like 100. It should be here right about the time my box will arrive(Oct.2).

Would it be best to run a fused distroblock or a ground block. I'm confused and the description of the product doesn't give me much to go on.

I got around to adding the leftover dynamat to the trunk lid and I realize I'm going to need alot more. I wish this stuff wasn't so **** expensive. It better last the life of my car!

-Thanks.

Ok, I was only able to get about a hour to start ripping everything out of the trunk to sound proof it. I planned on getting my amp rack built and having the trunk 100% ready to go when my new enclosure, amp arrives.

Oh well....here it what I got done. Something is better than nothing.

Pic of trunk lid...I need to pickup more dynamat tomm.

I foamed the hell out of the little nooks and corners. I tried like hell not to get it on my hands, but I always find a way. People who have had this happen know where I'm coming from....it's a biatch to get off.

I'm going to get the rack built tomm. and hopefully finish up the dynamat.

acetone when it has not fully cured will help get it off, that and lots of lava soap! OR the orange stuff.
I really am debating cutting my hands off:D

I let them soak in a bath of nail polish remover and I maybe got 15 percent off.

Looks good, but I would add more deadener. I have fatmat, which is a cheaper alternative to dynamat and seems to work just as good. I have used them all, just about. Also I covered 100% of mine and took over 100sqft from fatmat and 40sqft from Second Skin damp. That is everything cept the roof and floor. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif It does add up and I still flex, lol! Rattle, not so much.

Also nice price on highs amp. You would want a fuse distro block I believe.
