2005 mustang help...

I did a focal mid/tweet up high in the door and put the dayton reference 8's in the door/sub enclosure. It all sounds good but holy hell it was a pain. The 8's didn't fit without some surgery (a little heat and remolding of the enclosure). I haven't figured out a grill for the 8's just yet, luckily the dayton 8's don't look bad raw.

Running new speaker wire through the molex gig in the door jamb was an absolute joy as well.

Here is a pic of mine with the summer 20's. They look good but are way too heavy!

No problems with this 06...yet...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Less you count having to wipe all the drool off it as people check it out.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

By the way, as long as we are talking Mustangs... Will Boston Pro60s fit in the 06 Convertible door (replacing Shaker 500)? I sure hope so or the shop that ordered my stuff is gonna get pissy.

Not sure if the convertable door is any different. If its the same as the coupe you will have to take the pod for the stock shaker 500 upper door speakers out and make an mdf plate to mount them too. Should work aslong as depth doesn't get you.

seat levers on the back of the seat snapping the head off it, e-brake handle cover coming off (broken clips), air vent coming off, ****** whine, gas tank doesnt always like to take gas to full it cuts off short,
My '98 Stang had lots of plastics break. I would make at least a trip a year to the local Ford salvage yard and pick up replacement stuff. For $15 per trip it is easy to forgive your baby and get back that lovin' feelin'.

Then I went and sold her (with the $6K sound system intact) to a newly licensed 18-yo girl... *sob* It was like taking your dog to the pound to be put down...

My 96 is still in good shape ...no plastic breaks or anything....i did see where someones knee must of messed up the AC vent a little on the passenger side....besides a few rattles its in good shape....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Can they put the 6" where the Shaker "subwoofer' is and put the tweets up there?
Just make sure your 6" will be happy with 12 liters sealed space, make an mdf ring and you should be good. I think the depth you can play with is 3.25, but the motor of the speaker can't be very big in diameter.

Check out the pics here:

The first pick on the 2nd page kinda shows where the enclosure makes a big motor'd door speaker a tight fit in the stock sub location. My Daytons were 3.5" deep and they definately didn't fit without modifications that took a few beers to make me comfortable with. I'm guessing with a 6" speaker you can manuever the motor of the speaker to fit alot better.

So the sub enclousure is built into the door panel itself...not the door?
Yup, somehow the door panel vibration isn't horrible, its there, but livable.

Rochambeau - I don't think you should have any issues. Neo is definately where its at.
