2003 Toyota Sequoia HO Alt Big 3 question

I am going to replace the stock alt with a 320 amp alt. My question is and I do not have the car with me right now is: it appears that that the alt charging cable goes to a fuse box under the hood with many fuses one is a 130 amp fuse for the alt. I assume that alt cable goes to the fuse box and the current flows through the fuse and then on to the positive battery terminal, I could be wrong and the alt cable goes to the battery and then to the fuse box either way it is all connected. If this is correct when I add my new alt cable (0 gauge) and wire directly to the positive battery terminal will that 130 amp fuse blow within the fuse block or is it ok since that fuse box only draws what is needed?
