2003 Mazda 6s Build Log!

Hey thanks for the post, I'll consider it but I don't really have experience with aero's and don't feel like learning. Haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.
I'm gonna look into this though, see what I can come to.

Thanks a lot man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
There is no "learning" to do. Aeros have tons of benefits over regular slot ports, to figure out port length you just type in your box and tuning specs to psp-inc.com calculator.

Hm good point I guess. I'll consider it, getting kind of tired of ordering crap online though and doubt there's aero's around here. But I'll look into it and see.

Good lookin out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i love mazda 6's, but the mazda 3 hatchbacks are the ***......but aero ports can be found cheap on partsexpress.com
Yeah that's where I planned on ordering it from if I do go that route. And yeah Mazda 3 hatch's are pretty nice, but I'm a sedan kinda guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

Phew, started up the build on a serious note today. Fri/Sat was just deadening the trunk, but today I worked on the car from 10:30AM till about 9PM or so, managed to pull out all of the interior. (Seats, carpet, trim panels, center console, just about everything except the dash and the headliner)

Pics will come in a few minutes, uploading now.

Also managed to run my 0gauge power to the trunk and my 8gauge to the passenger side. That stock grommet is a ***** to get 0gauge through. Let alone after you stuff a couple 8 gauge wires. But it happened, took some persuasion but it happened. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Like I said, pics in a few //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what this is? I discovered it up in my dashboard but by the time I saw it it was dark and I didn't get to check into it. I will look into it tomorrow again though. I bought this car used with like 5K Miles from a guy that couldn't make the payments, he must have taken all his audio equipment out before giving it back to the dealer because I received it with stock HU and stock everything but there was a set of RCA's and some stuff like that white box stuffed up inside the dash.

The only reason I took out like, everything from the interior is as it's gotten dirty as hell, and I figured hey I don't need to go anywhere for a few weeks, plus my mom just got a new car so whatever. Might as well. Gonna clean the seats and carpet and everything good as hell then put it all back in. Also gotta change my headliner, but gotta head to joanne's and hope they have the right color //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

****, just realized the pics of that white pyramid box are blurry as HELL. I'll try to take some more tomorow if nobody can tell what it is from the looks of it.

Almost looks like a line out converter for running an amp off a stock deck.

BTW in your big 3 pics I only noticed a single added power lead and it looked like a chassis ground?

edit-

In this pic

Whats the deal with the grounds? I see the alternator lead, but where are the grounds going? It looks like you did the engine to chassis, then have a chassis ground at the same spot, but is it just not hooked to the batt? And whats the smaller black ground doing going from the batt to that spot? Is that the factory ground?

Just confused me and I want to make sure everythings setup right for you is all.

Ah okay, yeah that's what I first thought it to be, a LOC. Well I don't have stock HU, so Il'l rip that out and all it's wires.

And as for the big 3, it's just the way it looks. I did the alternator to the positive, as seen there. Then I grounded the battery and engine block in the same spot, the chassis does go back to the negative battery, and I tested voltage at all wires to ensure it was done correctly.

Thanks for the concern though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It's just the pic is a bad angle and the wire goes down from the terminal, not straight across like the stock one.

Alright just makin sure, it didnt look like the batt to chassis was hooked at the batt.

Haha yeah I know, that angle of the pic made it look like it was just leading to nowhere. But the way I had to run it was under the battery tray them up to the battery terminal, so you can't really see it unless your looking at it from the top or the other side. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Seems theres not much else I can do until I get my jigsaw this week. I need to make the MDF baffle for the RSD comps and the box for the MT, both of which require the jigsaw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

So now I'm just cleaning my seats and shit since it's all out of the car I can clean them really good. Cigarettes = terrible for interior, the amount of tar/nicotine/whatever the hell it is that i'm scrubbing out of those seats is ridiculous.
