2001 f150 engine probs

long story short my engine got soaked with water right ontop of the engine while it was cold, and when i found out about 10 mins later i cranked it up to hope to get any water out of the engine and it seemed fine

yesterday it started running bad and got the check engine light on random cylinder missfire and cylinder 8 missfire i have coil on plugs so i am guessing water got down on the spark plug or what not.

so is there anyway to fix the problem without having to change all the cops

check your plugs and see if they are wet. check your plug wires and see if they are still good as well as your coil packs...and go to autozone and have that code red

the codes i can read myself p0300 random missfire and p0308 cylinder 8 missfire

and also had a unknown code thrown

and i have coil on plugs not coil packs

the plug wires i am sure are still good i think its from the water got down in the holes to the plugs

o ok well i guess just pull the plugs and check to see if they are dry and firing

if worst comes to worst take it to a shop..

yea i wouldnt think the engine would alllow water to get down into the holes and on the plugs wat a bad design

i ordered all 8 coil on plugs for 85 bucks the auto store wants that much for only 2 and gonna get all 8 plugs and replace all of it

once i do that i shouldnt have no more problems right

well thats the only problems its showing i have random missfire and cylinder 8 missfire, not sure wats the random missfire means i guess that means diff clyinders are missfiring once or twice, i mean thats really the only problem i should have from water getting on the engine

true unless your ignition system is messed up. if your coil packs are fine and your ignition isnt then they could be being told to fire at the wrong time or not to at all

well it ran fine until it got wet so thats all it should be is water got down in the holes and is on the spark plugs and causing it too missfire

well if the water caused a short in the ignition then that could happen but I guess once your new stuff comes in and its installed you'll see if that was the actual problem. Hope it is

yea well i dont think it caused a short in the ignition if i did i think it would be running alot worse than it is
