I'm shopping around for a head-unit for my Blazer, i need to replace the Bose head-unit with a aftermarket alpine or something, and iv heard they are hard as hell to replace. Its the same unit as in the tahoes, Yukons, etc. If someone could give me a brief tutorial or point me to a previous post about this that would be great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I did have a line out converter in and it seemed like the subs weren't hitting as hard as they do with a aftermarket deck, if there is a really good one that someone knows about let me know, that would be a ton easier.

heres the pic of the same head unit

I'm thinking about just running the aftermarket deck below the stock one, like splice into the speaker wires and everything. is that possible?
It's possible to keep the factory deck up there and run one under it, but its much simpler/practical/will look better cosmetically etc... to just do this

you need to buy the GM Class II DAta Bus interface - it'll run you about $100. Go to iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future and enter your vehicle information.
and throw in an aftermarket where the stock deck is..they're pricey to most but if you get one, they're actually quite simple to install.
