1. how do you guys cut your squares? do you pocket cut with a circular saw? i'm using a jig saw and i'm not getting the results I like. Maybe i'll try my router guide...

2. What method do you guys use to carpet? Tutorials? I'm sick of painting. It takes too much time and costs too much money to seal, sand, sand, prime, sand, prime, sand, prime, sand..etc

For square cuts I use a dremel (rotozip)...actually I use it for all my sub cutouts.

Usually I get a really straight cut just taking my time and using a sharp bit, but I always leave my line and sand it down so it's as good as I can get it once the cut is done.

My brother swears by the jigsaw for cuts when he's building...guess it's just getting accustomed to cutting straight lines rather than circles.

At any rate I just say practice by cutting a bit shy of what you want each time and sanding afterwards until you become satisfied with your cuts...then go for it at the beginning.

i cut squares the same way i cut all my cutouts i have rings for each size and shape of sub...staple it to the piece im cutting the hole out of and take a table router and router it out as far as carpetting i just practiced my *** of using every variation i could find until i finally got it perfect ....i think i went thru twenty or thirty boxes before i finally got it down...i personally find it alot easier if i sink the sides of the box in 1/4 inch...

I cut squares just like circles, with a router. My router has one flat side that I use as a guide. I use a slightly larger outline square as a straight edge.

When I carpet, I tend to go all the way around the enclosure with one piece, leaving plenty of overhang on the ends. Then on the ends, it's a matter of laying one piece over the other and cutting BOTH at the same time for a straight matching edge. Push the edges together well when you glue it down, and it's hard to see any seams. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
