2 Questions-Altenators and Line Drivers

When the bass hits in my car it sucks enough power out to drop my voltage down to about 9volts. My lights dim horrible bad. Looking into it, a new altenator is the way to go. One with high output. How do you know what size to go with? I dont want to waste the money on one that is still not strong enough. But also a friend of mine put a HP alt in his car that was too powerfull and it would shut down his computer and kill his car. I currently have a stock 105 amp alt.

Second issue.. I have read about Line drivers to up the signal to the amps... anyone use these? do they make a noticable difference?

Thank you all.

man Alternators give power to the batts, which in turn power the Amps.. u need your alternator to keep ur batts charged even as the amps **** the juice from them.. i would definaltely reccomend one.. I have a Iraggi alt, that i got off ebay for $250 shipped and it does its best to charge my 3 batts..

linedrivers boost your headunit voltage to your amps, i am running a 9v phoenix gold driver.. it gave a major imrovement over my Hu's 2 volt pre-outs.. i have much cleaner signal and my gains dont have to be up near as high

my tips for u

1) Run 0/1 gauge wire (kicker knukonceptz)

2) do the big 3 in 0/1 (batt neg to chassis, alt to batt positive, motor to chassis)

3) add an extra batt to the back, go from 1st batt to 2nd batt to amps

4) get 200+ amp HO alternator

5) another batt to trunk
