2 ohm to 4 ohm...battery life

I am currently running 8 speakers with a Precision Power PCX 4125. It is currently running at 250x4 at 2 ohms.

I am considering only running 4 speakers which would make the amp run a 125x4 at 4ohms. I will do this so that I can cross over my HLCD at differnet levels with front/rear channels. I plan to add another smaller amp.

Am I going to see an increase in my play time with the? I would think that I would since my amp is only pushing 500 watts at 4 ohm's versus the 1000 watts at 2ohm's

The reason I ask is b/c this is in my boat and I like to play without having to start up the boat. I have 3 optima blue tops for my stereo bank.

Thanks,
