2 MJ-18's, 9 cubes net in trunk build

i don't have room for 2 ported, i just don't i've got 6.5 cubes gross 7.5 if i push it, 7.5-8 if i REALLLY push it (like fiberglass molds in corners n n grooves and basically use every square inch of available air) i've been debating between doing 2 sealed or 1 ported, only problem is finding an amp that will do 700w at 4ohms, pretty sure im just going to get a big (200x2 or bigger) 2 channel and bridge it to 4ohm, only way i see to get 700w at 4ohm without buying a 2k watt mono block
I'd go with two sealed definitely. But maybe thats just me...these sound great sealed, and I think they'll be louder than a single one ported

and for an amp I'd go with a zx1500.1 or 2500.1 if you want overhead (I'd get a 2500.1 most likely if my bxi gave up on me one day and I'm still runnin this setup)

dam man looks loud. some nice flex.
it is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif the flex is pretty ridiculous in person, camera hardly does justice lol

yeah if i ran 2 i was either going to use a zx1000 or a zx1500, also thought about a bxi2008d i understand they don't need full power to get stupid loud, and the other reason i'm getting these is for the sq principles, they get loud, the get low, and supposedly they sound great. perfect combo for me.

All I can say is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Looks friggin good man, good job! For the lower frequencies just work your EQ.

the only way i could fit 2 ported would be a wall, and if thats the case im not worried about output or bottom end extension, if 2 18's off 1500w in a wall tuned to around 32hz in a standard cab truck isn't loud enough, then a "budget" setup, just aint gunna do it for me. i would think 2 18's in a 10cube wall in a standard cab truck (not exactly alot of airspace to fill lol) off 1500 watts should be easily a 145db setup... i would THINK (could be wrong)

Do it.

ive been thinking REALLLY hard about it lol might do the 2 18s sealed and then later on build the wall if its not enough. although i believe someone told me that someone was hitting 143-144db with 2 sealed off a zx1500.1 but i could be wrong

I really hope I can get some numbers up for this setup soon...would love to be able to play with a TL, but I'll probably end up just gettin it metered at a shop somewhere on an AC mic or something

i know there's got to be someone out there willin to lend me a TL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif hit me up

please:(

lol i know the feeling man, i posted on here looking for anyone remotely close to me who had one just so i could see where i was at, no one here even has an AC that i can find. but numbers are better than no numbers, let us know

looks freaking loud bra!! i have basically the same car (2000 626 lx) i was wondering how is your trunk holding out without the bars? is it hard to open? im trying to "expand" in that trunk as well and knowing what it takes, i applaud you for your leaps and bounds lol

doesnt steve meade have a TL? might want to ask him if you could go by & use it.
Hmm...i suppose thats a possibility but its not like everyone in sacramento that has a system knows steve meade or can get a hold of him lol

I'll send him a message anyway

You mean the ones that I'm using to hold it up? Makes the trunk MUCH harder to open lol...its surprising at first, feels like there's a 30lb weight added to it, but oh well its not that big of a deal imo, i just need to rig a way to always be able to hold it up when i need to other than carrying one of those bars around in it lol

yea...really not the easiest trunk to work with. Plus, have you looked at the rear deck where the middle seat belt thing is? See how it makes it indented so its not flat from the back because of that seatbelt? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif I took out the seat belt and cut along the bends to make seams, and then used a hammer to just slowly bend it out so that I have a flat surface there that I can have the baffle resting against. major pain in the *** to say the least, but it was worth it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
