2 MJ-18's, 9 cubes net in trunk build

You mean the ones that I'm using to hold it up? Makes the trunk MUCH harder to open lol...its surprising at first, feels like there's a 30lb weight added to it, but oh well its not that big of a deal imo, i just need to rig a way to always be able to hold it up when i need to other than carrying one of those bars around in it lol
yea...really not the easiest trunk to work with. Plus, have you looked at the rear deck where the middle seat belt thing is? See how it makes it indented so its not flat from the back because of that seatbelt? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif I took out the seat belt and cut along the bends to make seams, and then used a hammer to just slowly bend it out so that I have a flat surface there that I can have the baffle resting against. major pain in the *** to say the least, but it was worth it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
buy some actuators and put them in place of the stock opening.

granted it will change the opening mechanism completely, it will make it much easier in the long run.

Install looks d@mn good, im glad after all the hard work it came out like you wanted it.

I would not mind a pair of those ported to 28hz in the trunk for another "temp" install, hmm...

Great job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/2thumbs.gif.fdc3ba010dbb42b61704534b46d02fe4.gif

I still got more work to do but I'm exhausted from almost two weeks straight of nothing but school, box builds, and working on this, so I'm just leaving it as it is for maybe a week haha

sealed up a few leaky seams on the box today

jesus christ, i had heard it would be a hell of a lot harder to open, but man your build is looking badass, i took one look at my rear deck/ trunk and lost all hope lol but you giveme hope to go through with it...what about installing some air compression trunk hinges?hmmm..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif EDIT: mjf beat me to it

I know the specs changed but was curious as to whether there was an SPL/Response/Sound Quality increase.
I feel like I can tell a difference: little louder, faster response, possibly actually a little bit worse sq, but it very well may be a placebo effect and all in my head, plus I didn't run the older MJ's for nearly as long as I've had these

Worth ditching the old and going to new then?

Reminds me of my build in trunk I did last summer.

What a pain in the *** that was. Doing a build in like that takes some time man, I can appreciate it.

Hope you don't get any squeaks with the box rubbing against the sheet metal when the system is off. I had a bit of trouble with that, and **** was it a ***** to fix those squeaks with the box built in like that.

Well first of all I'm glad to say this still hurts my ears after long exposures to it and gives me headaches //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif When I got the second MJ originally when they were sealed, it only sounded very loud to me for maybe 2 weeks before I got used to it (I listen to my music full tilt ALOT, probably avg of like 45 minutes every day or more)

Also it definitely makes you short of breath pretty considerably on certain notes, "touch it" by Busta is a good one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, a couple of the notes in "Put On", just to name a couple I'm talkin about, hard to swallow, etc

still dont know numbers, but I will soon enough, I promise

Yea it squeaks some but it doesn't bother me that much, especially because I almost always listen to music and even when its only up about half way I can't hear any squeaks over it.

I love the creativity you put into that thing man, it looks and sounds great! Can't wait to see the trunk done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I've been lazy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

well, actually just really busy with other stuff and its like...I get done with a build for someone else and then I consider finishing up mine, and then I decide I'll take a break and relaxt, and then I have another build to do for someone else, lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I'll get it done eventually for sure though

vid of my song please!
The camera I usually use (which is actually my girl's) is having battery issues and only lasting like a minute so its kinda a pain to really go record anything, my dad's been talkin about buying a new video camera he's waiting for to come out though so if/when he does I'll take more vids
