2 HUs and same problem?

im thinking the problem is with the wiring harness because they were both panasonic HUs i left the old harness instead of swapping them out. but it will randomly turn the vol to 10 no matter where it is, unless its already at 10, and then shut down then i have to pull the cd out and put it back in and play again, it does this like about every 10min i guess
