Just wondering how many amps 2 gauge will handle safe? Right now I have 4 gauge with 2 amps, one is an Orion 1200d and another alpine 340. Both are fused with a total of 150 amp. I read that 4g can only handle 120A. And by the way no 0g to thick. Anyone with a word of advice?

If 1/0 guage is to thick go with the 2 guage.

it should do 225A safely. you might want to go to 1/0 just to be safe.

a 4 guage wire will not handle 225Amps. Use 2 guage wire.

It depends on the length of the wire...I've used 4AWG in similar installs without any problems, but upgrading to 2AWG won't hurt.

its prob not the most accurate, but its pretty reasonable.

2 guage can handle 150 amps if its not more a 13 foot run. i would use 0 guage to be safe and to account for future upgrades
