A little thing called dynamics. Meaning a 150 watt amp rarely produces 150 watts. Very rarely.

I'm just trying to make a point about how some things don't matter as much as you think they do.

That Zap would be fine. Focus any extra on sealing the doors and fast rings

How do I know what would be a better choice between say

BRX616.4 - HiFonics 4-Channel 640W RMS 1280W Max Class AB Brutus Amplifier

and

ST-4X P - Zapco 4-Channel 480W RMS Class AB Amplifier

From what I've read, Hifonics was decent years back. But, I've heard they've gone downhill quite a bit since then. Their published specs are pretty impressive, although. I, especially, like the 24db slope on the crossovers...which means nothing if you are not going to go active. But, having a feature rich anything means nothing if SQ pays a price for it.

I'd still go with the Zapco. Or, if you still have to have the 120 watts, what did you think of the Treo Engineering amp? Too expensive?

With shipping that is gonna be pushing $275 which is $60 more than the Zapco ST-4X P. Figured I go with the zapco.

Would it be worth the extra in your opinion? Wont get the warranty with it buying from ebay as well

Just have to put this out there. We offer those Zapco amps with a warranty. They're not on our web site at this time so I understand it's less convenient to order. Normally I sell all or big parts of systems rather than single items.

I really don't know that much about Treo Engineering. However, everything I did read said that amp was nothing but high end. If I had the funds and KNEW I was not EVER going to need the other two channels, then yes I would spring for the Treo. But, in your case, I like the Zapco.

The Treo is older. High end 10 years ago is mid grade now. Even made in China.
