2 amps into one ????

A line driver or an equalizer will allow you to take the pair of pre outs on the back of your deck and split them into front/rear/sub outputs with out any voltage loss.
The other option is to use an rca splitter to split the signal to your seperate amps, you will suffer some voltage loss though from your headunit meaning a graeter chance of noise in the system and a need to turn the gains up higher on your amp.
Using a y-splitter on the RCA's would result in a voltage loss of, at worst, a few tenths of a volt. Nothing major, nothing to even concern yourself with, and it would be 100% inaudible and would not affect a single thing.

Using a line driver or equalizer simply to add more preouts to your system would actually be a worse idea than simply using y-splitters. Why? For one, it would be much more expensive (since you would want to use atleast a decent unit; so you are looking a $50-$75 at best). 2nd, running another component in the signal chain has a much, much higher chance of inducing noise into the system then splitting the RCA's does. Remember, each additional component adds it's own little piece of noise to the system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Not to mention it dramatically increases your chances of ground loops/alt whine/etc etc. The y-splitters basically have a ZERO chance of adding noise to your system.

All in all, y-splitters are a MUCH better option.

I actually use splitters in my car with no absolutly no problems, my suggestion was just a basic list of options with reasons why, I did not mean to misinform.
