i already have my system correctly hooked up but i intend on switching out the subs for stronger ones and hooking them up to separate amps.

when i hook up my new amp do i need to put a ground in it and hook it up to the 12v battery or will hooking up to just 1 amp be enough after i split the RCA cables?

basically my question is...i already have a ground and power wire leading to the 12v battery on amp #1 do i need to put another ground and wire hooked up to the 12v battery on amp #2 as well or will the 1 ground and power cable to the 12v on amp #1 be sufficient?

well depending on your head unit preout voltage you might want to get a line driver and run one set in the use male to female y splitter and then to runs how ever long you need to your amp's or your amp's are going to get a good enough signal from your head unit to be effective
