2 Amp 3 Sub. 1 Mono 4 ohm, 2 stereo 2 ohm

1st post.

I have an issue. but for simplicity I will start with the equipment so you know what we are working with.

2 Rockford Fosgate P2 subs. 12" dual voice coil wired for 2 ohm

Powered by

Autotek M3200.2 2 channel amp.

1 Kenwood Excellon single voice coil 12"

Powered by

Autotek M1600.2 2 channel amp.

I have a stereo RCA output for the subs going into the M3200.2. I want to go from that amps output to the M1600.2 amp input.

Heres the problem. In the instructions to the amp, it says Quote, :

"A MONO signal source is required, such as would be available from the mono sub bass output of an active crossover, whether stand alone, or built into a head unit or equalizer. Important: Do not be tempted to connect the hot, or positive outputs, from any source together to obtain a mono signal, as this could very well damage the output stage of that source. It is necessary to feed the SAME signal to both left and right inputs via a Y- adapter RCA cable. Connect the mono speaker positive terminal to the LEFT +, and it's negative terminal to RIGHT -.

My question then is. How do I connect the output from the M3200.2 amp to the input of the M1600.2 amp? It doesn't seem like they want you using the stereo RCA cable, or taking a Y from both L+R output to another Y going to the L+R inputs, but I still want to bridge the second amp.

It's waht I had. I wanted the P-2s to pick up the lower frequencies better, and the Kenwood to pick up the higher bass frequencies.

I did the same thing in my camaro. Theres an HE-2 DVC bridged to 2 ohms, and 2 SVC Sony Explodes at 4 ohms. I use the LPF on the HE-2, and run the Sonys EQ on full.

I want to go from the radio stereo RCA out to the input on the top amp for the first 2 subs , then go from the first amp to the second amp to run the single sub.

Which wire do I need to connect the 2 amps?

I googled up to see if i could get a bit more info, but that 3200 has a built in xover /line out to be able to SLAVE off of to add another amplifier to Input Left and right,The Main sub amp will /should be the Master, and the secondary amplifier should/will be the Slave, amplifier.Just be sure to set the v on the amplifier out correctly, most all around 2v up,Htz on the Main sub amp I would run at the min which you have @30htz on up to a max of 48,and the secondary I would pick up around 60-200htz...Im looking into running a pair of 10in Daytons DVC8 ohm up front under my seats at around 80hz.Yet, by the information I gathered you should be able to slave off that 3200 to the 1600 no problem

What HU are you running? Most lower end HU only have a 2v out on RCAs.Thats what you set your V on the amp to that set right. You have a built in xover on the amp to run a secondary amp/Slave, is what it looks like to me,almost the same as my older Hifonics VIII Cyclops ect,. Line in fro the HU to the 3200/Master amp, and Line Out to the 1600/Slave amp

On your amplifiers you have HTZ settings,On My main /Master amplifier to my low end Subwoofers,Ive set my hertz level to around 33 on my amplifier, in which sounds best for me as my subs are in a 2.0 cu ft ported chamber ea, tuned to 30htz, but as picking up the front subs/Ill be setting those at a higher HTZ setting,of around 80,up to 200htz is what Im thinking to set that one at, as to say a Midbass setting,in which not used up front,or in several systems much..It would be safe to say that your HU may be @2v.Id pull it out,get the model name ,and google it up.Back to the subs, Im not wanting to get drowned out with front, and rear subs hitting on the same frequency. It wouldnt sound right/misplacement.I have just recently gotten to Know a few MECA people in the area, one in particular, that doesnt live far away, that is in to SQ,along with just a hair of spl when he wants, and in the process of doing a setup of running 4way active up front,in which can get expensive..lol,yet all car audio can get expensive,if you want to play right.Ill pm you his user name on this site, which he comes to but is more active on another,He can give you more detail of setting hertz for the speakers you have, and getting the max best sound out of them.Im more SPL set up, and he is more into SQ set up, and we are /do work /speak to each other on both sides to get the sound , and performance we are wanting/try to achieve
