2 15" L7's not loud enough

I'm currently running 2 15" L7's on a planet audio 2250D. They arent low end monsters like most people think. I have a 9.5 cubic foot box tuned to 33hz. It's all in the back of a 96 blazer. They dont get loud enough for me. They tend to annoy the hell out of me because they hit nothing but higher notes. They arent the best daily drivers.

I was wondering what subs, around the same price range, would be louder than the the L7's. It could be the vehicle that they are in. They hit low, just not loud. When I really turn it up, the voltage drops down to 11 volts and the subs start to smell like they are getting hot. Does the low voltage cause distortion? I appreciate any help.

if you're wanting to upgrade batteries.. i suggest pm'ing scottiej, he has some g31 yt's for real cheap! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

box isn't right.

check for clipping also.

I've heard those subs w/1000 watts do a 150 in a blazer.

I have already done the big 3 upgrade a long time ago. The subs are loud. They just dont get loud in the frequency i want them to. It seems as though the subs distort after the voltage drops extremley low. I have heard a guy say how 1 15" L7 made his friend jump out of the car because it made him sick.

It's louder in the front seat than it is the back. You would think that sitting directly behind the subs would be extremley loud. I Know I need an alternator. I know that low voltage can do damage, but does it cause a clipped signal? Is that why they get hot after about a minute and a half at full volume?
