2 15" L7's not loud enough

I know that low voltage can do damage, but does it cause a clipped signal? Is that why they get hot after about a minute and a half at full volume?
very possible

11 volts ftl... look into a new batt if urs is old and def big wire... bout $200 will have you set

They get low, but they dont get extremely loud doing it. Higher notes to me is something in the 40's. I know I need a HO alternator, but is it going to make such a significant improvement that I'm never gonna want a diffrent sub again?

if i were u and i was just really lookin for some new subs, i would go with 2 15 H2's, those motha ****as pound hella hard. I got 2 15" L7's (2006 Model) not hooked up yet, but i can tell u right now, those ****s are loud as hell, ive seen and heard them in action, maybe upgrade ur electrical system and pick up some 06's L7's?

does that amp have a subsonic filter?
Loyd L.
Yea, It has a subsonic filter. I'm pretty sure I have it set on 25hz. It may very well be the box. When I built it, I didnt use bracing at all. You wouldn't think that it would make such a huge difference with or without bracing. The bax practically takes up the whole back end. They are pointed rearward.

Pointing them forward didn't make a difference. It was actually not as loud. It doesnt seem like there's enough room back there for the bass to get through to the front. I was curious if a smaller box would better utilize the space back there and give me better output.

i have 2 L7 15's with about 1300rms to each in a 9.5cf box and it is loud as hell, really loud.

but my box is also tuned to about 38-39hz, if you are looking to get loud you have your tuned (33hz) tuned too low.

how much port area do you have, mine is about 80sq inches at 9inches long, the more port area the louder you will get (generally) see if you can get about 100sq inches of port area and tune it 38-40hz and you will be happy as hell, and makes sure you throw atleast 1300rms to the subs as it takes some power to make a port that big work good for you.

bringin back an old thread because i dont want to start a new one....... but im having the same problem or maybe im gettin to be deaf. the box i have now is around 8.5cu @33hz and i have (2) 2006 model L7 15s and a MMATS 2100.1 and its not that loud to me. the box is literally as big as it can get. i will get pics 2morro. any ideas?
