2 12s suggested port?

i've only built boxes for my 15. im gettin rid of it and doin 2 12s. i loved the 15 with port tuned to 30hz. what im trying to figure out is will 12s sound better with the low tune at 30-33hz or would they sound better tuned to like 40hz? its gonna be 2 DC Lvl 3 12s in 4-5 cubers after port n such. gonna be sub n port forward. soo basically which will sound louder and cleaner? 30hz vs 40hz?

Tune low if you want to retain any sort of musicality. With a 40hz tune, you'll have a big peak in the 45hz area and anything below 35hz will be weak compared to your peak...if you liked the low tune before, stick with it.

ok cuz i love the low loud bass. i dont really like the high end punchy stuff or whatever. i love the low everything shakin bass lol. what i was really tryin to figure out is what the differences in sound are going to be going from a 15 tuned to 30hz to 2 12s tuned to 30hz. both in the same size box.

Just depends on the subs themselves and how they'll react in the boxes you put them in. Some 12's have better low-end response than most 15's. I've seen 10's that can dig lower than some popular 18" subs(as far as frequency response goes, not overall loudness).

well im going from 1 kicker L7 15 to 2 DC audio lvl 3 12s. both boxes are roughly a lil over 4 cubers after port n sub displacement. im hoping for an overall improvement in everything by going to a better quality company n such. also switching amps. pushing the 15 with a crunch pzi 1500.1 gonna be pushing the 12s with an audiopipe 1800

edit: shouldnt have said both boxes cuz i havent even decided on a design for the 12s box yet haha but it will be roughly a lil over 4 cubers

honestly if you havent spent your money yet i would look into a used amp of better quality... my ap3k is loud.. but clips easy

and your port size comes from the size of the enclosure... i would suggest slightly bigger than your old port because of the additional cone area, but that is up to you
